Our teammate Paulo Andersson is a talented Product Owner who has been with us since May. He just got assigned a new role as a Business Analyst Lead with one of our clients from the banking industry. Before he heads out to start his new role, we had a brief chat about his professional experience, his interests, and his life at Polar Cape in general.
1. What’s your favourite thing about Polar Cape so far?
I had been with Folksam for my entire career, and I felt the need for a new challenge, both professionally and for personal growth. What I really appreciate about Polar Cape is the wonderful atmosphere and the nurturing work culture that is fostered.
2. Tell us more about being an IT Consultant. What does it mean to you personally?
Being an IT Consultant, for me, is about providing each customer with a fantastic experience and sharing my expertise to help them achieve their goals.
3. How has your role evolved over the years?
Throughout my professional journey at Folksam, where I started as an insurance advisor, I’ve progressed through various roles such as Business Developer, Product Developer, and ultimately, Product Owner. Folksam has been a rewarding workplace that encourages career growth and taking on new challenges. The knowledge and experience gained there will now be applied to my upcoming consulting assignments.
4. Do you have a unique problem-solving process that really makes an impact for our clients?
Every customer is unique, with distinct needs. My approach involves gathering comprehensive information about their business, work processes, and culture. Together with the customer, I create customised strategies and actions to help them reach their goals.
5. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my free time, I love being outdoors with my partner, daughter, and dog. We often go for walks in a large green field close to where we live, allowing our dog to run and play with others. Additionally, I enjoy participating in sports like ice hockey and floorball. 😊
6. You took part in our extensive and very productive internal Hackathon 2.0. Can you tell us a bit about it?
We had the unique opportunity to apply our skills in practice, collaborating with our talented developers from Skopje and Bitola. This was particularly exciting as my current assignment was set to begin the week after and I got to practice working more efficiently as a team.
We got to work closely as a team and define the goals and steps to execute the project. The result was – a Proof of Concept (PoC) for a “personal shopper” solution based on generative conversational AI with integration to ChatGPT’s API.

We will chat about our Hackathon in our upcoming posts, and until then – good luck to Paulo in his new assignment!
