The Story of P.F.C.

P.F.C. and Polar Cape reaching a project milestone

Recently, we’ve had the pleasure of hosting our client P.F.C. (Personal Finance Co.) at our Skopje office. The purpose of their visit was to meet with the Polar Cape consultants who work on their team. Together they had reached an important milestone in their production process, so they decided to take the opportunity to work in the same space. Even though the Polar Cape consultants are seamlessly integrated within the P.F.C. team, being in the same space for a week has brought added value. It’s been a great way to spend more quality time together, engage in important brainstorming sessions, and more importantly further develop team spirit.

About P.F.C.

P.F.C. started in 2018 with the idea of creating an app that helps users manage their money. It’s a personal finance app that helps customers achieve financial wellbeing. There are features that help users define a spending budget, share expenses with friends, create partner savings accounts, even a savings account for juniors. It helps users create healthy spending habits and easily achieve their budget goals.

“Everything works very smoothly”

The pleasure of chatting with Natasja Geigert was all ours! She has been a Product Owner at P.F.C. for over a year now. During this time, she has been working closely with the Polar Cape consultants, so we spoke to her about her experience. How they fit in with the culture, what’s the impact that Polar Cape has had on P.F.C.’s product, and how well we work together, in general.

According to Natasja, the 5 Polar Cape consultants they have working on the P.F.C. software feel like a part of their company. To put it in Natasja’s words, they are just as well integrated as any other P.F.C. team. More precisely, P.F.C. has 3 backend engineers, one iOS, and one Android developer from Polar Cape working on their engineering team. They function as a part of the company. According to her, what makes this collaboration so good are both the good communication and the cultural fit.

As you will see in the video below, Natasja says that Polar Cape’s impact on P.F.C. has been noticeable. For P.F.C., the ability to have more engineers working together has greatly improved their product. Their team has become more diverse. As Natasja describes it, this is the best experience she’s had working with a remote team that is not always in the same room. As she says, the team still has that “familiar feeling”. The Polar Cape engineers are experienced, and everything works very smoothly.

It was a pleasure to spend time with the P.F.C. team. We hope to see them again soon.
