Svenska Retursystem’s services are based on reusable crates and pallets that provides an effective supply chain, from producer to wholesaler and finally to consumer in the stores. SRS has over 140 million reusable items in circulation, and over 500,000 units are used any given day.
SRS had insufficient knowledge of the physical location, state and circulation time for their crates and pallets as the control over the logistics was predominantly based on manual processes. They needed a long-term partner that could help them digitalize the logistics process in an agile and flexible way, also managing the support & maintenance services after go-live.
The DevOps team provided by Polar Cape developed the SmartPooling responsive web application, built with a mobile-first approach. The system allows users to easily create and approve transactions and has a mediation workflow for disputes. The same team also constitute the 2nd and 3rd line service desk providing ITIL best practices incident- and problem management services.
