Business objectives Liberty Global is one of the largest telecoms groups in the world, operating in 14 countries. The objective was to create a Care mobile app so customers could check their bills, usage, and more. This was the cornerstone of a digitialization initiative to improve customer experience and turn the mobile and online channels into the primary customer-care channels.
Project solution The Polar Cape team worked as an extension to CIO office to deliver apps for multiple countries, based on a common modular architecture. The demands on the architecture were very high, requiring a hybrid app, and a common code base with reusable components that could be customized based on design and functionality for each operator country in the group. Integration towards the back-end and other central systems for content management and security meant that tight coordination was needed between teams. The Polar Cape team consisted of an onsite tech lead, and an offiste development team, and was the best performing team in the program, meeting deadlines with high quality deliveries.
